Figure 2. The top of the brain has been removed to just reach the roof of the two lateral ventricles, but this cut leaves the connecting corpus callosum intact. You can see that a cut has been made through the anterior part of the corpus callosum (arrowhead; also the underlying septum pellucidum and 2 fornices have been cut) which is necessary for removal of the back of the brain.
