Case 4.

A 45 year old man came to you complaining that the right side of his face looked funny, and every time he tried to smile "he was laughed at because the corner of his mouth drooped". He also compalined of double vision. Examination revealed the following:

  1. partial paralysis of the left limbs;
  2. internal strabismus of the right eye;
  3. inability to completely close the right eye;
  4. inability to wrinkle the forehead on the right side;
  5. paralysis of the lower facial muscles on the right;
  6. irritation of the right eye which appeared dry and red.
