You will find on the following pages 60 questions with slides from
your Brainstem set, MRIs, CT scans and preserved unstained sections through the brain. To make it a
bit more challenging (don't worry, the actual exam won't be this hard), many questions
have two parts: first, identify the structure at the tip of the red arrow, then answer
some question about the connectivity or function of that structure. Take your time
and evaluate yourself honestly. You can go back to the UIC Brainstem Atlas or the
Laboratory Previews to check your answers. We hope that these questions will help
you focus your studies for both the practical and written examinations.

The actual
laboratory exam will consist of 60 questions, one on each of the 24 sections from your
Brainstem set, one each on 24 wet specimens and 1 each on 12 MRI and CT images. Most
questions will be simple identification. Approximately 6-8 questions will be of the
"function" type.
